At Proto Footwear, I served as a key creative and strategic leader, applying my expertise in design and brand development to establish the company's product identity and innovative approach to product creation. My role focused on pushing the boundaries of product innovation and redefining how footwear is created and marketed with an amazing team driven by developer Liz Ishiba and designer Nick Daiber.

Footwear Design and Development
Led the creation of footwear and apparel, emphasizing sustainability & engineering precision with aesthetic appeal. Utilized advanced, recycled and headstock materials with unique manufacturing techniques to deliver products that could be manufactured in the Americas like the Suba-Q.
Sustainability Initiatives
Advocated for sustainable design practices, integrating eco-conscious materials and processes into product development. Focused on reducing waste and optimizing manufacturing efficiency.

Team Leadership and Collaboration
Assembled and mentored a team of designers and engineers, fostering a culture of creativity and innovation. Encouraged cross-disciplinary collaboration to create product and develop unique stories like working with the nonprofit Good Things to train up and coming creatives in media production.

The highlight of the project was watching Liz Ishiba work with her mentor Maurizio Donadi to create one of a kind pieces from reclaimed hoodies and chore jackets.
